A different perspective

Dr. Hartridge was born in London, England and spent her teens studying and training for international kayaking competitions while traveling in southern Africa and South America. She lived with her family in Atlanta, D.C., and Manhattan, studied in North Carolina, Colorado, and California and Long Island, NY for her residency in Family Medicine.
She now resides in Brooklyn, NY and frequents Africa for medical volunteering.

Osteopathic Medicine

Osteopathic physicians' study is guided by the following thoughts:
1) the human body is a unit of the mind, body, and energy, soul, or spirit;
2) structure and function are interrelated;
3) the body is constantly striving towards healing;
4) rational treatment takes the previous three statements into consideration.

In addition to thinking about disease differently, osteopaths spend extra time in school learning about the diagnosis and treatment of all tissues using touch.

Food: Preventative Medicine

What you choose to put in your mouth is an intimate act. Take responsibility for this act. When you eat whole organic foods from the earth you are practicing sustainable medicine.

A low fat whole foods plant based lifestyle can prevent and even reverse significant cardiovascular disease and auto-immune inflammatory conditions.

Healing with Hands

I took medical leave from medical school part way through my first year. During that time I explored different types of therapy and became certified as a Reiki Master. This training provided context and vocabulary later on as I entered into the Cranial component of the Osteopathic curriculum. I am elated and humbled to have the opportunity to incorporate these two worlds as I guide you through the release of your manifestation of dis-ease.
